Ex-student Jude Obermuller is putting the summer school kids voices through their paces with a very poignant rendition of ‘Don’t Stop Believing’.I have no doubt many of them are doing our show ‘Finale’ moves as with other classes this week, when Glee has popped up as a very popular choice for the summer school teachers. Just brilliant!
And on that note….I have finally cleared all the paperwork following the show and want to thank you all for the emails and cards I have received, congratulating me and the team for a great show. Despite the fire alarms, the was said to be our best yet, so thank you to everyone involved. Important News!
• Mini Summer School—next week—2-6th August 4-7yr olds 9.30-12.30 £75—we still have places so feel free to turn up on Monday!
• Space Trek—musical theatre/drama week—postponed until October half term.
• Timetable—check out any slight class changes on page 2. Read page 3 for help with some of your questions.
• Payment—Fees due BEFORE the start of term & can now be done online. All info on page 4. ESSENTIAL that you use your son/daughters FULL NAME as the reference and beneficiary.
• LAMDA drama exams next term. We still have spaces for more students on a Friday. Please email if interested in group classes for after Oct half term.
• MINI STREET—New Saturday class 4-7 year olds. Email if interested. Enjoy the rest of your Summer Holiday!

Hello Everyone! It’s the Easter holiday’s...almost….and there is an exciting buzz about the school show next term. I’ll keep my chat brief so I get as much info in as possible!
Main things!
• BILL — Your bill is on page 6—please follow the simple instructions of how to work it out and note that the fees are due BEFORE Monday 19th April.
• PRODUCTION FEE — Your bill includes the production fee of £12 per number you are in. Again I am asking for this in advance to confirm your commitment to the show. This covers costume hire/insurance. See page 3 for show info.
• BACK —We start back on Friday 16th April.
• FEES — Fees can be posted securely in the dance school letter box. Cheque and cash only. Pay pal/online banking etc will be in place for the September term! Phew…..I hear you say :)
• TIMETABLE Timetable —check the length of class times as this effects your bill and there are small changes as always.
• SCHOOL SHOW @ Roedean Theatre 15th, 16th, 17th July. Rehearsals commence for the ENTIRE school after the Easter break. Please keep the dates free and look out for notices about help needed!
• KEEP WATCH Main school notice board will have every little item of info about the school show I can possible think that might help you.

This term has just flown by and as I type, the last classes of the term are underway with Miss Aimee whilst a good selection of parents watch their beautiful Ballet girls dance :) Alexa is busy blowing up balloons for the Christmas Party this afternoon, and a good selection of students are arriving to help with the set up. Before you plough through the rest of the news and settle on the back page bill (!!), I have a few things that must be covered this holiday.
• Alexa — Once again a sad farewell is looming as Alexa leaves us on 9th January to head off on her adventures around the world before University in September. We all wish her well and students, please join me in her farewell on the 9th Janu- ary at 1pm.
• Office hours — After the first week of term, the office ‘open hours’ will be reduced significantly. A secure ’post box’ will fitted to the wall outside the office for any messages or late fees.
• GCSE dance — I have had a few enquiries about my running a 1 or 2 year course at the dance school. Please email me if you are interested in this as an alternative to your son/daughter doing it at their school.
• Tappers — please do not come to class in your tap shoes!!! Not only do they cost a fortune, but you then bring outside dirt into the studio.

Latest — A long but exciting busy term with exams in London, mid-week and as many weekends as we could fit them in! Thank you to all the parents who very patiently rearranged things to fit in with me.
News -After being with the school now for many years, we sadly say good bye to Miss Fiona who recently moved to Worthing where she will be continuing some teaching, exams and all sorts! We will miss her VERY much. She has been an asset to the school and we won’t forget her. Miss Kirsty who teaches on Wednesday’s will take over Monday classes and Miss Aimee who teaches Saturday’s will be taking over her Thursday classes.
Fees — I’ve been holding off with the ‘recession’ but I’m afraid fees have to go up slightly in September. Please see the bill and be sure to settle on time. You have 9 weeks to pay! :-)

Thank you all for a wonderful term. Busy with exams and a crammed timetable, everyone
has worked really hard. Sadly, we say good bye to Miss Karen who is off to spend more hours
at her own dance school, and Miss Lily at the end of May, who is spending the summer working
in America before going off to University in September.
Please welcome our new teachers Miss Kirsty on a Wednesday and Miss Aimee on
a Saturday. I hope you all have a nice, well needed Easter break. Let’s hope
the sun shines for us all!

Once again, a truly BRILLIANT show at Roedean, each year the standard & quality of work produced just gets better & better. Thank you ALL for your support and help during the summer term to enable us all to get the students ready for such an occasion. Already plans are underway for a smaller show to be held next Spring for the schools 10th Anniversary, being organised by my senior students, many who will be leaving soon …..more details to come & if you would like to get involved, please let me know.
Please take a moment to double check the TIMETABLE . There are small changes & to help you, I have highlighted your son/daughters classes, many whom have ‘moved-up’ due to exams at Easter. For students doing more than 1 subject, I have tried to suggest what days would be most convenient to you. Do email me if you have any problems with my suggestions!
We welcome our new teachers Miss Karen Hollebon to our Wednesday & Saturday classes and Miss Robyn Baker for Wednesday senior ballet & Friday daytime adult classes.
New Street Jazz class for school ages approx 4-7 on Monday’s 5.15-6.00 with Miss Fiona. Non exam & totally up-to-date!
NEW baby dance class 2-3 year olds - Thursday’s 12.15-12.45. Parents need to be prepared to stay on the premises.
Adults, you can’t get away that easily! NEW BALLET & TAP classes start so get moving now & sign up for Friday daytime classes. See the timetable overleaf. Possible Sunday eve adult Tap with Simeon coming soon!
We have many school trips planned for next term, including a trip to Redhill to see guest teacher for the show, Simeon Weedall, in action in ‘Tap Dance’, student Alex Drew in the English Youth Ballet’s version of ‘Giselle’ in November & a visit to see the highly acclaimed ‘Wicked’ in the West End. See the notice board and sign up for a ticket!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend. Some quick news…... We are heading into our second lot of exams this term, so well done & good luck to you all! Congratulations to Morvah Cull who is going to the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in September. We will miss you very much but wish you every success. Miss Fiona is cutting back her weekend hours next term, so I will be taking the Saturday dance classes which I am really looking forward to. Please note your bills include the show Production Fee as always at this time. Summer School dates confirmed. Book your place now as there is always great demand. Thank you all for a wonderful year. We hold exams every term now and the studio has been buzzing every day of the week for as long as I can remember. Thank you to my dance teachers Miss Fiona & Miss Nikki who have worked so hard to get the students prepared. I can’t fit in all the shows that students have been appearing in! As long as they squeeze their classes in too, it is a wonderful experience for them. Read Jude’s news for an update. Even though the town is so busy, and it won’t stop raining, I do still love the Christmas break. I hope you enjoy the time you get with your families.
